OFS staff is guided by the belief that personal and academic excellence is fostered through personalized education. This is why a foundational component of the OFS educational model is the Individualized Learning Plan (ILP). Teachers at OFS are called Advisors and work collaboratively with families to create an ILP that is individualized to the needs and interests of each child.
Every student at OFS has a unique learning plan that may include attending one day a week onsite classes, specific math or writing classes, enrichment classes, or being a “fully-virtual” student that never sets foot on campus. OFS students use a wide variety of curriculum ranging from parent-led, printed curriculum to fully independent online learning and everything in between.
Each K-8 student receives an allotment fund of $800 per year, divided into $400 per semester. The purchase of all materials and curriculum must support your child’s Individualized Learning Plan and must be non-sectarian in content. Enrichment activities that are instructional may also be paid for using allotment funds (swimming lessons, piano lessons, organized sports, etc.). Allotment funds may not be used for resources that do not directly correspond to instruction or general school supplies.
