Megan Welch

Megan and her husband and twin boys love living in Bend and try to breathe the fresh air as often as possible while skiing, sledding, hiking, running and biking, They also enjoy finding ways to incorporate travel into their studies of history and science for a real hands-on experience for the whole family. Megan’s homeschooling journey began after a career practicing and teaching law.
Rachel Curtiss
Board Member
After a decade of teaching K-8 in a public school setting and six years of training future educators at Multnomah University, Rachel turned her focus to homeschooling. She enjoys the support and encouragement of working with the community at OFS. She and her husband have one son. They love to find adventures in Central Oregon and beyond including hiking, camping, sledding, fishing, treasure hunting, and a wide variety of sports.
Jenna Gruber
Board Member
Faith, family and community are the top priorities in Jenna’s life. Jenna has been homeschooling her kiddos since 2016 and has greatly appreciated the community she has found in OFS. She loves a good game night with friends or an afternoon spent with her family at the park. She is wife to Matt and a mother to five beautiful children ages 3 months all the way up to 12 years.
Kristl Williams
Board Member
After a successful 30-year career with U.S. Bank and working as a Sales and Service Manager, Kristl has recently retired and is serving as Leader of Women’s Ministries at Compass Church in Bend. She and her husband, Rick, of 42 years, have two grown children and a fantastic son-in-law who helped provide an amazing first grandson. She enjoys all outdoor activities and volunteers for the numerous events happening in Bend throughout the year.
Ben Zimmerman
Board Member
Ben and his wife Ami have two girls and enjoy spending as much time as possible under the beautiful clear blue skies of central Oregon. Whether it’s nordic skiing in the winter or camping in the summer, it’s pretty much a guarantee that you’ll find the Zimmerman’s outside. Ben and Ami spend the majority of their free time remodeling their home just east of town. Ben serves on the security team at Eastmont church where he and his family are active members. He has worked in the composite contract manufacturing industry, law enforcement, outdoor retail sector and is currently recruiting in pharmaceuticals.
