Oregon Family School (OFS) began out of a desire from home-based school families to have support from a licensed teacher, resources for their child’s education, and opportunities for their students to interact with peers.
OFS started its first official school year in 2018 serving grades K-12. OFS is classified by the state of Oregon as a focus virtual-charter school and is sponsored by Harney County School District #4. Our unique model immediately began meeting a need in the homeschool community of Central Oregon and beyond. This year, OFS will serve about 1,000 students.
OFS provides a unique tuition-free learning environment where parents must actively participate in the academic development of their children. The programs are provided at no cost to our families. State education funds are used to provide curriculum, teachers, support staff, technology, and academic accountability.
